Our team created an accident reconstruction animation showing how starting the ethylene pump before fully purging nitrogen led to serious damage. Nitrogen bubbles caused poor lubrication, damaging the bushing and shaft due to improper operation.
This animation demonstrates proper ethylene pump operation, with both valves open and ethylene filling the system to flush out nitrogen. The ethylene provides lubrication, ensuring smooth rotation and preventing damage to the shaft and bushings.
